As to displaying the mailbox page in the menubar - this only happens
if you click on compose message in the menubar. Looks like the reload
code was added by Jan here:

Unfortunately, this code doesn't seem to work too well (i.e. what if
we are using the IMP API to create a compose link in a completely
separate application - we definitely don't want the calling screen to
be reloaded to a mailbox in this circumstance). I've reverted this
for now.

folder. Also, the menu frame reloads to contain the inbox view
(screenshot attached).
Same thing happens on two installations, both latest head, php-5.1.2,
one with dovecot, one with courier-imap.
