Works fine here.  PHP error logging is returning nothing?  Do you
have a memory limit set?
Strange...

memory_limit = 32M

I really wonder why the unsigned message with the sam attachment works fine

But there is still a Problem, when I send (using IMP) the same zip
file once PGP signed and once without signing. In the first case it
is not possible to open or download the zip file with IMP again. I
just get an empty window.
Have you verified that IMP is not still attaching the message as a
text/plain part?
It seems to be attached in the right way, see the source below:

This opens/downloads correctly, whereas the signed one just returns a
blank page.

Have you verified that IMP is not still attaching the message as a
text/plain part?  This obviously won't work if the zip part is still
being sent as text/plain in Q-P as we (on purpose) don't send Q-P data
binary safe. See e.g. Bug 3565.

This works absolutely fine for me (the zip file is being attached as
application/x-zip-compressed and being sent base64 encoded).

The browser is sending the wrong mime type for the zip file (text/plain).
Ok (will have to find a solution for that, Firefox Solaris)

Just in case. I attach the file with which I tested the scenario....

zip file attachments (and maybe others) get broken when messages are
sent signed by PGP or S/MIME
at least it is not possible to open/download them with IMP again.
hmmm... and my users are reporting that it doesn't work when not signing.

here is an example of a test mail I recieved from them:

So it seams, that the attachment does not get encoded in the right way.
