a simple workaround is to zip the dbf, and then send it via imp, this
way works.
track this down yet. The messages isn't sent at all for me though with
this file as an attachment, my mailer complained about NUL values in
the message.

sended via other webmail
I tested different different linux distribution (centos4 and gentoo),
with horde-3.0.9 and imp 4.0.4, horde-3.1-rc2 and imp-4.1-rc2 give the
same result.
I attach a tar.gz file that contains a file named "giardino 06.dbf"
that open correctly using ms excel or cdbf
(http://www.dbf-viewer.com/cdbf/) and a file named "giardino
06-horde.dbf", this file was sended using imp and both ms excel and
cdbf give error on open
see also this post:
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=imp&m=113886638917759&w=2
if for some reason both file come corrupted try that attached to the
post above.
Step to reproduce
1) open giardino 06.dbf and verify you can open
2) send it as imp attachment
3) download the attachment and try to open, for me doesn't open anymore
