This is a significant issue for us since upgrading to this version of 
IMP. It took a while to find the answer, too - very, very, very much

If $conf['user']['select_sentmail_folder'] is enabled, and you turn on 
"Check spelling before sending a message?", sent mail is stored in the 
default sentmail folder, regardless of what is selected in the "Save a 
copy in" dialogue box on the message composition screen.



This is also a problem in IMP 4.0.3, and presumably FRAMEWORK_3.
