You need to use a Virtual Trash folder in such a setup. Or tell the other client to use a real trash folder too. This is a support question, not a bug report. Please use the mailing lists to ask for support. http://www.horde.org/mail/ contains a list of all available mailing lists.

Title says it all. I think this has to do with new messages being deleted by a 3rd-party app, but not EXPUNGed. It would be nice if the 3rd-part app were to clean up after itself, but either way my expectation as a user would be that these two tallies should always report the same number of new messages.
