I don't agree with you. Yes, perhaps I was not careful enoght with
the description, but concerning the behaviour, it is a fact that
Kronolith sends out an eMail when a calendar entry is done via
Lightning but it is not sent out if it is entered on web gui. So, it
from lighning's perspective tehre is no need to send an email, why
should Kronolith do so?
..and this, among other iTip related annoyances is what is fixed in
the next feature release.

I think you are confusing "Notifications" with "Invitations". The two
are separate items. Current stable Kronolith contains no preference to
shut off iTip invitations, though this IS added in what will be the
next feature release of Kronolith.

Steps to reproduce:
1) connect a network calendar client (e.g. Lightning from Mozilla's
Thunderbird) to Horde.Kronolith.
2) Set all notifications in user settings of Horde to NO.
3) Create an appointment in Lightning and insert a participant with NO
INVITATION from Lightning.
4) On synchronizing Lightning with Kronolith, Kronolith sends an ics
file and invitation text, text body contans "User-Agent: Kronolith H5
(4.2.17)".
