This is intentional. The password will be asked for when accessing the account. It's only present when doing automatic detection of the account settings to actually verify the settings work.

If adding a remote account, one need to click "show advanced setup" for adding a username or host... if advanced setup is displayed, the input box for password vanishs. so no password will be saved, even if entered a password before clicking show advanced setup... and there is no way "back" :)
