We don't support creating calendars via CalDAV (yet). And we do tell the clients, it's up to them what to make of this information.

The CalDAV and WebDAV/ICS subscription URLs do not work when I create a new calendar in Thunderbird 45/Lightning 4.7.1.1. The calendars are created but either generate a persistent "calendar is momentarily not available" message, or simply to do not populate/cannot sync.
