Thanks for the update Jan. I understand that this will be in IMP 7
however this is still under development and not ready for production
and your roadmap indicates no ETA on its release. As it stands now we
believe this to be a bug / design flaw with IMP 6.2 and would like to
see this corrected.

Is there a way to provide a fix into IMP 6.2 to add the suffix to the
sent folders with the identity name?

Thanks

This is a feature, not a bug. All special folders are "translated" to
common names, including real translation to the current language. This
has been an often requested feature.
In IMP 7, sent-mail folders are suffixed with the identity name, to be
able to keep the different folders apart.

Hi,

Sorry I mean to set the type as a bug. Can someone correct that. Or do
you consider this behavior change / issue an enhancement request. If
so feel free to leave this as is.

Thanks,

Matthew

----------------------------------------------
    1. Detailed Explanation
----------------------------------------------

In cPanel we have a primary mail account for the primary cPanel user.
This allows this user to subscribe to other mail users inbox as we
setup a symlink to the users inbox.

root@testserver [~]# ls /home/cptest/mail/
./  ../  cptest.com/  cur/  .Drafts/  maildirsize  new/  .Sent/
.test1\@cptest_com@  .test2\@cptest_com@  tmp/  .Trash/
root@testserver [~]#

If a user is using multiple identities and wants to save mail to its
inbox, or one of its subfolders they can select this based on the
subscription of their folders.

However after setting the folder to save the sent mail to, on the next
login to Horde it renames the folder tree entry to sent.

Further this occurs with any webmail user and is not specific to our
setup with the main account, in the event that you create a sub folder
for the current users Inbox and set it as the sent folder as well.

As soon as you log out and back in to webmail the folder is no longer
labeled as you created it but rather as Sent without any idea which
folder it is until you hover over it to see the ALT Tag or right click
the folder.

----------------------------------------------
    2. Step-by-Step Instructions
----------------------------------------------

These steps are at least specific to a cPanel system if you have one
to test with.

1. Login to the cPanel Users Account
2. Go to Mail > Email Accounts and create some test accounts
3. Login to the main cPanel Webmail account, which is just its primary user.

The steps are more specific to Horde.

4. Log in to Horde
5. Under "Folder Actions" Select "Create New Mailbox"
6. Name the Mailbox whatever. In my case I named it "TestFolder"
7. Go to Settings > Preferences > Mail > Personal Information
8. Under "Select the identity you want to change:" select Create New Identity
9. Enter the Identity Name, and your From Address
10. Select " Save sent mail?"
11. Pick the "Sent mail mailbox:" as "TestFolder"
12. Go back to Mail and Observe that Test Folder now shows up under
the Sent Folder.
13. Logout
14. Log back in to horde.
15. Observe that Test Folder has now been named as Sent in the Folder
Tree, but the underlying folder is named properly.
16. Right click and try to rename the folder.
17. Reload an observe it is still set as Sent

The above steps occur whether using a normal folder or one of our
Symlink folders under the Inbox to point to another users account, so
its no cPanel specific or an issue with using another accounts INBOX.

----------------------------------------------
    3. Suggested Resolution / Expected Behavior
----------------------------------------------

If a user sets a folder as a sent folder for another identity do not
rename the folder to Sent on logout / login. Leave the folder named
exactly as it was.

If you are going to rename this as Sent, please make sure that you
also include the folders name as the following patch does.

https://bugs.horde.org/ticket/12721

However this patch should not have to be applied and this
functionality should be built in to Horde Mail.

----------------------------------------------
    4. Known work around(s)
----------------------------------------------

None
Save all Sent Mail to the standard Sent Folder, however this is not
ideal for everyone such as one of our customers.
