A link will only be displayed properly if the description text is free of umlauts (vowel mutation, e.g. äöü). For instance, the entry ((technology/gears\|Zahnraeder)) works as expected, while this ((technology/gears\|Zahnräder)) outputs the above source text instead of the desired link. Please note that the umlaut is in the description portion of the link, I am not using page names with umlauts.
