It's in the left sidebar, under "Address Books". As this is a support question, not a bug report, please use the mailing lists to ask for further support. http://www.horde.org/mail/ contains a list of all available mailing lists. Found it in the calendar just under Shared Calendars and Resource groups. Thanks.

Works fine here. Did you select the appropriate "Address Book" calendar to display? I'm not sure. How / Where would I do that? Where would the documentation be that talks about that?

When viewing the personal calendar, birthday's do not appear from personal contacts. From everything that I have found, this feature should "just work".
