I don't see this. The pref is meant to be used as a default value for the gallery property form. The actual value for this is always taken from the share. I.e., from the value that is displayed when looking at the gallery's properties.

Per discussion with Michael regarding the download original file link : There is two sets of permissions for download, one in the property of the gallery and one in the preferences of the users. The preference of the users supersede the property of the gallery. This sounds like a bug. I think the per-gallery should supersede the user pref. The user-pref should really only be used to provide a default for this value. For example, if user-pref is set to anyone, then ALL gallery will always be available to download the file even if the gallery setting is set otherwise.
