Hey, I mean I click on an the .ics file in the email attachment sent
by horde. Here is the .ics file in question for reference.

I fixed this by removing the MAILTO from every file that had it in
/horde/kronolith/

When I click on  the attached .ics file of an invite email in
Evolution or Apple Mail, it tries to email confirmation to
<MAILTO:\user@domain.com> and the invitation appears to be sent to
<MAILTO:\user@domain.com> also which breaks Apple Mail and makes it
impossible to confirm invitation outside of Horde.
