I can't reproduce. But looking at the IMAP log did indicate that caching was broken. I have fixed that issue - maybe that was causing your problems?

To be a bit more precise: the unread message count in the mailbox view is correctly updated, but not the complete count, and not the message list. So, after updating, i have 9/17 in the sidebar and 9/16 in the mailbox, but only 8 unread messages, because the new message is missing. Oh, and I already emptied the cache to make sure there's no corruption.

The IMAP log, first part with the sidebar update, second part with the mailbox update.

If a message arrives while logged in, only the message count in the sidebar is correctly updated. A refresh of the mailbox view doesn't update with the new message. This is with Dovecot 1.2.9.
