I guess not - once it's production code there would be no need to do it any other way. Fell free to cancel the request, I didn't realise there already were efforts underway to do synchronisation.

Would be nice to have a Thunderbird extension for synchronising contacts, much like this one for Sqirrelmail: http://absync.alternc.org/ Also calendar & TODO would be nice.
