have permissions to see the calendars that these events are on, then
you can see the events already; I think shared calendars would be a
much better solution for you since you don't use IMP.

don't use IMP, and we're a little lax about always accepting the
invites to begin with, so we'd like events the users in invited to
show up on his/her calendar.
I hacked the sql driver to accomplish this.
I don't expect my hack to intergrated, per se, but it would nice to
have config options that allow for:
1) The current behavior
2) Always displaying the events a user is invited to
3) Display them unless they deny the invite
4) Display them if they accept the invite.
