I don't know how IMP's code works but what is changing when I select Turkish. If you give me some clues, I can try them. The current system locale is changed to Turkish. This affects all processes started from PHP during the page request. Since Horde/IMP, and not even PHP knows whether you are using Maildir or mbox, this problem has to be in the c-client library or the imap communication. You can rule out the latter by tracing the imap traffic.

May be similar with ~~#4231~~ but not realy same. We have been using IMP and Mbox ( with IMAP) without any problem for about 5 years with Turkish. The problem started when we started to use Maildir at 3 days ago. I have two keypoints. The problem started with Maildir, and it occurs when I select Turkish from the language menu. I don't know how IMP's code works but what is changing when I select Turkish. If you give me some clues, I can try them. By the way, thanks for your interest.

I was doubtful with tr_TR.po file so, I copied tr_TR.po file withe as de_DE.po and did the necessary tasks. I changed Turkish to Deutch but the problem hasn' changed. I did the vice versa ( de_DE.po --> tr_TR.po) ans d nothing changed. My conclusion is this is not a translation problem. We are using IMP 4.0.1 in production on RH EL3 and we want to use IMP 4.1.3 on RH 4. However this situation effect our upgrade plans, because both IMP versions have same problem. Maybe this is a dovecot problem but any other clients such as pine, outlook, thunderbird... works great with dovecot. I can send you any info you want about the server or Horde.

I have no idea how changig the imap server or storage format could effect this. Unless you changed anything else on your system at the same time, this has to be a problem with Dovecot.

Are you sure you have everything necessary for UTF-8 installed on your server? mbstring in PHP? iconv? Proper locales?

We have been using IMP 4.1.3 and mbox ( with uw-imap ) working perfect. However when we changed our mail system to maildir format ( with dovecot ) our IMP couldn't open messages in Turkish translation. You can see your messages but when you want to open a message, it couldn't open it and says "There are no parts that can be displayed inline" in Turkish. When you log in any other language except Turkis there is no problem. It works perfect. I dig a little the code but I am not a coder so I messed.
