The validation is done by the PEAR Mail package and the expansion by 
your local MTA.

When sending mail, recipient check is not correct for  "to" header like this :

to: someone@

so with the username, the "@", but no domainname.

The mail is accepted for delivery but for localhost instead of the 
correct mail server from the list and finally forward to postmaster 
without notification for the sender.
