Fixed in HEAD, but in a slightly different manner than your patch. ...and merged - will be in Turba 2.1.4

Turba resets $source after every search. This causes problems if the default action is to "browse" and the most recent search was against a non-browsable directory. The attached patch to browse.php resets $source to default_dir if the request is not a search request and the current $source is not browsable.
