Any error messages? In the log file, in the javscript console? Is the request actually sent to the server?

I have done... and the popup address book search works fine.. its the autoexpand which doesnt work

Make sure you have selected the address books to search for contacts in imp's preferences.

Using the current CVS of IMP the auto expand (which I notice you can no longer disable), doesn't return any results.... from either of "My Address Book" (SQL) or the "Shared Address Book" (SQL). The search/browse within turba and the IMP address book window all work fine.
