This has to be an issue with your IMAP server. The sorting doesn't
happen on the client side, but we let the servers sort the mailboxes.
Since this isn't happening with all accounts, not even with all
folders of the affected account, this has to be a problem with the
IMAP server.

I blew away almost all of the imp prefs (except for my pgp keys) and
it is still present.  I tried a different color scheme and it is there.

Is there any information that I can provide to help track this down -
or am I going at it alone?

You are correct.  If I am in my INBOX, and click the From header, the
mailbox display reloads, the previous sort method is still highlighted
(in blue) and the arrow next to it is gone.  If I go to another
mailbox and select another form of sort, it will also apply to the
INBOX, until I select another field header.

I have some more information for you as well regarding this.  It
appears to only affect the INBOX, and a couple of other folders, of a
single user account (mine).  There are several folders that it does
not affect and there doesn't appear to be a similarity between the
folders that it does work on and the ones it does not.  It does not
appear to happen on any other accounts.

I am going to try and blow away the preference database entries for my
account and see if that resolves the issue.

To make sure I get you right: you click on the column header or change
the sort criterium in your preferences, and your mailbox is reloaded,
the preference is saved in the database, but the sorting still isn't
different from before?

Hi,

Clicking on any of the column headers results in no sorting - other
than message id.

For example:

delete pref_name=sortby

Changing the sorting option (in preferences or by clicking on a column
header) results in:

  1) column headers are clickable, but nothing happens

  2) changing the sorting order in options changes nothing

The only way to recover from this is to delete pref_name=sortby from
the pref db.

And what *happens* if you click on a different column header? Does it
work if you change the sort criteria in your preferences?

When in the INBOX mailbox view, click on [Thread] next to Subject.
You can no longer sort via ASC or DESC and there is no way to revert
this setting without manually deleting the horde_pref for this user,
pref_scope=imp and pref_name=sortby.
