I had a simular problem, and it turned out that it was a couple of my hook functions causing the problem. Double-check your hooks for display_cals and fb_cals, if you have them. I ended up disabling those hooks alltogether, and now all is well in free/busy-land.

Are you sure you've selected the other address books in Kronolith's preferences?

You can search and add new attendees from other address books set in Options for Address Book > Address Book , but only the Free/Busy addresses from "My Address book" are recognized. (Temporary workaround is to copy the addresses to "My Address book".)
