It's not going to be done using the current Horde version. You could
force a refresh of the sidebar, but there's no API to do it so it'd be
a hack. If you look at something like DIMP, the sidebar is maintained
completely client-side so all updates are instantaneous.

It refreshes at an interval set in your preferences. If new folders
don't show up on those regular refreshes, then there's a bug.
Those refreshes work fine. But I know users - they create a (virtual)
folder, want to select it in the siderbar and if there isn't, call the
hotline immediately. ;-)

This is definetly no show stopper, but would be what users expect.
It's a nice-to-have and if it can be implemented easily, someone who
knows the trick could do it.

Ah, sorry. Yes, I am talking about the sidebar. Is there any specific
reason why it is not refreshed after creating a new (virtual) folder?

Are you talking about the sidebar?  Because the folder navigation drop
down contains the newly contained folder.

As far as the sidebar, we don't refresh it when creating any folder.
For that matter, we don't refresh it when doing any folder altering
action.  So if that is the issue identified, this has nothing to do
with virtual folders.

Chuck, did you accept this because of the latter issue?

Creating a new virtual folder from a user defined search does not
reload the navigation and thus the folder is noch listed unter virtual
folders. Would be a great little feature to prevent confusion of the
users.
