This was actually affecting all calls to IMP_Folder::rename() instead of just the maintenance task. Fixed in HEAD and IMP 4.1.2.

The archived sent mail folders that are created during the sent-mail maintenance are no longer automatically subscribed if subscriptions are turned on.
