This feature has already been implemented in the Horde's VFS library in CVS HEAD (Horde 3.2).

The FTP protocol does not come with a command for moving files AFAIK. But this can be done by renaming files. For instance "rename test testpath/test" will move the file "test" into the folder "testpath". It would be cool to see this as a menu item. I'm missing this feature terribly.
