What's in the FTP server's logs?

When I try to log in via ftp server, I cannot login an the error message http://isa33/horde/gollem/login.php?username=Georg&port=21&logout_reason= message&logout_msg=Verbindung+zum+FTP-Server+fehlgeschlagen&backend_key=ftp (what means connection to ftp server failed) is displayed. I am using vsftp under linux, and I can log into the ftp server without problem.
