Wait for a refresh of the sidebar, or manually refresh it yourself. The sidebar is not tied into anything that happens in the main frame.

The Mail counter ( i.e. "Mail(1)" in the left side menu) becomes out-of-sync when the user deletes/moves/reads/marks mail.
