IMP will allow you to create a folder whose name begins with a period ("."), however it does not display such folders in the folder list. The create is happening successfully as I can see the new folder using a different client. Ideally it should be displaying these folders; but if it can't, then it shouldn't allow them to be created either. We are using Cyrus IMAP4 v2.1.11. -Robin
