An auto responder needs to live on your mail server, not on a mail client.

The existing Horde application does have an auto-responder, but it is 
not convenient to its users.  I believe a good idea would be to 
incorporate the auto-responder feature directly into the Webmail 
application at the user level.  So, everyone with a POP account can 
add and apply their own auto-responder when necessary (without having 
to ask someone with administrative access to the control panel).
