I agree with Gergely, this is just too specific for your local system
and could be solved with existing rules already.

If you want to help your users, create default rules that work with
your system.

I think the user should insert a spam rule than, which puts the
letter to spam box (or to inbox, if she wants) and check the 'ignore
other rules' option.

This way she got the hoped functionality without a patch.  Am I good?
This would work but it requires two steps in two different places.
Most people will not recognize the potential for this problem until it
is too late (eg they have returned from holiday and there mailbox is
full junk). In my opinion, the issue should be dealt with in the
vacation form.
If it is not trivial for endusers, then the horde project should
documentate it, I think, but shouldn't apply a sieve only
non-abstract patch with non-conigurable spam headers.
I agree that the implementation could be done better. I think it
should be implemented with configurable spam headers. I wasn't sure
how to implement this properly.

There is no reason I can see it could not be implemented with the
other backends as well.

Perhaps a better place to implement this feature would be in the "Do
not send responses to bulk or list messages"  checkbox. Changing it to
"Do not send responses to bulk, list messages or spam".

I find it kind of annoying when you go on vacation and when I return I
find my inbox is full of those MAILER-DAEMON messages that are the
result of the vacation program replying to spam messages.

So you can add a patch. Didn't see this first time around.

I've created a fix but this trouble ticketing system doesn't allow one
to attach a patch so there you go.
