The 'sort_limit' option has been removed in IMP 5.

The $conf[server][sort_limit] option is useful but often it happens
that someone wants to enable sorting to better identify messages to
delete because his mailbox is full.

It would be nice to have an option to apply the limit (and the default
sorting) after login but to let user change sorting (that will not be
saved after logout).

Thanks.
