Yes.  Filter as you type doesn't make a bunch of sense when the data
searched is not stored locally.  The DIMP rewrite has more to do with
the preparation for an improved Search UI (see Ticket #6875), but
makes the behavior described in this ticket obsolete.
That make sense, but I'm looking forward for IMP5. I plan  to migrate
my users in less that two weeks now, even if there is still some
little bugs.

Thanks

Dom

I think I've seen Michael committing a change to IMP 5 to start the
search after hitting Enter?

hello,

There is some problems with search. I have to tell that some other
colleagues of other universities complains also.

Do a search -> you get the results

But for example, I search from lalo

get the results

Then I add a t and I can see and endless look.

Or, as you can type your search not quickly enough on the keybord you
can be always in such a mode, because the search will start when a
delay has finished, and the next key will put you in the loop.

Should be better to click over something to start the search after
typing the text and selecting options (that the imap manager who is
speaking..)

Dom

I run perfectly over cyrus imap 2.2.12 that we will migrate as soon as
possible to 2.3.13
