It seems that the default 'search_fields' values from prefs.php do
not get considered anymore.
They do for me.  If using name & email only, autocomplete occurs
entirely on the browser.  Maybe you are seeing a symptom of this.
It seems that in the older versions an empty 'search_fields' database
entry in the horde_prefs table was ignored and this case the default
'search_fields' where used. Now with the newer version an empty field
is treated as such an nothing is being searched for.

I have no Idea how the empty 'search_fields' database entry was created.

I have configured 2 addressbooks a) localsql (for personal use) and b)
global LDAP (for global lookups)

When typing e.g. "kamr" into the "To:" field no addresses are
autocompleted and no list is generated, but when I search for that
string using the turba search interface (Basic Search -> name) I find
2 matching addresses in my LDAP directory.

I do also not see the spinning wheel during address expansion.

With cvs HEAD from July 23rd this was/is  working.
