Have you looked for segfaults in your apache logs?

What does your IMAP server have to say about it?
It seems that there is no login attempt from IMP. No log entries.

Hello there!

We're trying to install Horde Groupware Webmail Edition.

Version 1.0.6 works fine. After default setting (creating database and
specifying admin account) everything works.

Version 1.1 RC4 always shows up an error "Login failed". Also after
running the setup and no change on the config files.

Cyrus IMAP server runs on the same machine as horde (works fine with
Horde Groupware Webmail Edition 1.0.6, eGroupWare and Evolution).

Horde log says the following:

May 21 15:55:28 HORDE [error] [imp] FAILED LOGIN for mburtscher
[194.208.140.58] to {localhost:143 [imap/notls]} [pid 21103 on line
139 of "/var/www/horde/imp/lib/Auth/imp.php"]

The Server settings in imp/config/servers.php are default and the same
as in version 1.0.6. So i think it has to be some kind of bug.

The IMP test with test.php works fine too:

* Trying protocol imap/notls, Port 143:

    SUCCESS - INBOX has 37 messages (34 new 4 recent)
