Quicksearch is just that: simple searches. I really don't want any more complicated UI for it ... adding additional user-defined search types would require a bunch of additional code for little benefit. (Searching from, recipients, and the subject, quite frankly, is not a very useful search query). It would be nice to make the layout of the advanced search page nicer in the next version of IMP, but I don't see any issues with the current quicksearch setup.

Searching in from, to (cc. bcc...) and subject may fit for the most quick search cases. In Thunderbird I can preselect the fields which should be used for my searches. I would vote for another search entry with To, rcpt and subj or a way to preselect the fields by the user.
