I do faintly recall now there was some bug with early versions of
PHP 5.5.  IIRC, upgrading to newer 5.5 versions fixes.
I have tested it with version 5.5.9 that comes with the latest stable
version of ubuntu 14.04 and indeed there is no problem any longer.

I guess that this can be closed now and thank you for the assistance
and guidance.

Just out of curiosity, what version of PHP are you using?
5.4.27
Well, I loaded up a virtual box with ubuntu 13.04 and loaded up the
latest groupware/horde/imp and configured it like my ubuntu 13.10
install.  13.04 somes with php-5.4.9 and I don't have the issues with
the second search not working.  I'm guessing that the problem lies in
the differences between php-5.4.x and php-5.5.x.

I guess I'll have to look into downgrading php-5.5.3 until everything
is compatible with it.

Can't reproduce with IMP 6.1.8.

Steps I took:
1. Load INBOX in dynamic view.
2. Do From search for X (Results are loaded)
3. Do From search for XX (Results are loaded)

I'm running Horde Groupware 5.1.4
Horde 5.1.6
Imp 6.1.7
Ubuntu 13.10
php-5.5.3
dovecot-2.1.7

The first search that I do works just find, but if I do a second
search, it never loads any message in the pane, but I get an error
saying that

2014-04-18T18:05:29-05:00 ERR: HORDE [imp] IMAP error reported by
server. Mailbox doesn't exist: impsearch [pid 14239 on line 570 of
"/var/www/groupware/imp/lib/Imap.php"]

I'm attaching the horde.log that gets generated when I try a second or
third or fourth search.

After searching through google, I saw some references to things not
working in php-5.5 versus working in php 5.4, but that was two years
ago, and I assume that the problems have been fixed with that by now.

Does anyone else have this issue about searching only working once and
then not again until you log out and log back in.
