The Account URL https://<horde web server>/horde/rpc.php/principals/<login (e-mail address)>/ doesn't work in CalDAV for all clients tried (Evolution, CalDAV-Sync,...). This Account URL work fine in CardDAV for all clients tried (Evolution, CalDAV-Sync,...). Wordaround: Use Calendar URL https://<horde web server>/horde/rpc.php/calendars/<login (e-mail address)>/calendar:<secure code to get in Horde Web interface>/ I'm not sure that this bug is related to Horde as SabreDAV lib is used for CalDAV/CardDAV implementation. Owncloud using also SabreDAV doesn't have this problem. This problem have been specified in http://bugs.horde.org/ticket/12275 but without solution for Account URL.
