This is definitely not a bug.  Because sorting alphabetically makes
zero sense when displaying e-mail results.
That was not my complaint. I meant the sorting according to preference
'search_sources'.

I'd like to have: first list results from personal address book, then
from LDAP.
Now: mixed results from both.
See attached screen shot, marked red = from personal address book,
other results from LDAP
This has been discussed before (on the lists perhaps) but briefly:
there is no guarantee that contacts have a first/last name, or that
this information is added correctly, so sorting by these fields
strictly alphabetically is not going to provide the correct results.
And sorting by e-mail address obviously makes no sense for a
variety of reasons (the "mailbox" portion of an email address often
has little/no correlation to a person's real name).
Well, all of our LDAP entries have surnames, the results are, wlle
sorted in a way I can't interepret.
But this is not my main issue.
This isn't a close call.  If you really want to change the sorting
order, you can do so by directly altering the code.

Hi,
another complaint from my users after switching from IMP4 to IMP6:

When users compose a new message and type in a name in the To: field,
they expect search results sorted according to their preferences in
search_sources. This isn't (always) the case.

Usually users have their own addressbook (localsql) and an LDAP
directory (localldap). So results from own addressbook should appear
first.

It might be a configuration problem, so any hint is welcome. Of course
I can provide my configuration and examples.

TIA,
