If a PGP signature contains non-UTF-8 characters, the message cannot 
be previewed because it cannot be json-serialized. I think this might 
be GnuPG's fault, because it shouldn't return non-UTF-8 data if the 
current locale is UTF-8, but maybe we can still catch this somehow.
