On pages like http://marina.horde.org/horde/ansel/view.php?gallery=26466&view=Gallery, instead of the <select> menu, have a div underneath the header triggered by a toggle in the title ("Actions +" or something). Use toggle('id', 'blind') (http://wiki.script.aculo.us/scriptaculous/show/CombinationEffectsDemo) for the effect.
