This is over-customization. We already have two menus, both can be configured by the admin. Another option to configure this by the user is making things even more complicated.

The menu icons that show up in the application menu should be configurable by the user. I know this is already configurable for all users, but it should be a per-user preference. I would like to offer many applications to the users, but then the application menu becomes too crowded, and most users don't use all the applications anyway, so they should be able to define the applications they want to see in the menu.
