In git, the entire compose window is greyed-out until all elements are 
loaded.  Is that what you are looking for?  If greying out is not 
sufficient, we can play around with the formatting - i.e. we can 
overlay a blank white div over the whole screen with "Loading..." text.

While on a slow line, I noticed that if you reply to a message from 
the base window, the compose form is displayed before the reply 
message is loaded. This could take some time, so we should hide the 
form while we wait for the data.
