Do you mean the "Seen" flag? You can't set the Recent flag manually. Please close the ticket, was my failure, sorry. I add a new flag without color selection and click save. There is no warning and without color you can not use the flag.

I can still add new flags in the preferences, but there are not shown in the "Mark as..." menu. Old flags which I add with a older imp version still in the "Mark as..." menu.
