> Will there be notifications about newly arrived mails? I've not found that so far, but it would be great.

Unfortunately not, because IMP isn't using the alarm framework for new mail notifications yet.

It means that new message polling and notification in IMP is done in IMP internally with custom code. It also works in the traditional interface only. In the future we should use the Horde_Alarm framework for that, i.e. implement a listAlarms() method in IMP's API to poll the to-be-polled folders for new messages and raise alarms for those. This way you will get notifications of new messages in any application, in any interface mode.

Updated just to the final release.
I thought, when the alarm-framework is used, I can get these notifications even in Google Chrome, to get the user informed, that new mails arrived.

The user will not notice a new mail, when the browser is minimized, or it's in the background, since the internally displayed popup will be flushed after some seconds.

A desktop notification for new mails similar to alarmed events (with desktop-notification of course) in kronolith would be great.
