I think we should have kept the old timeout code for the case that vfs is not available, but we should at least document that vfs is required for that feature now.</description>

I disagree.  That code *never* worked for me, and definitely won&#039;t work if IMP is not the auth handler, if a custom login page is used, if maintenace tasks are run, etc.</description>

In other words, having a half-assed solution that requires no configuration but works terribly unreliably is absolutely no replacement for having a solution that works (lingering bugs aside) even though it requires additional configuration/resources.</description>
