Hmm I just did that (You are referring to the "Folders" page where you get via the Folders icon in IMP?)... There is no option whether to check a folder for new Email or not. I am using IMP with an IMAP Server (Dovecot). I have tried it with and without IMAP Folder Subscription enabled. "Create Folder", "Rename", "Delete", "Empty", "Clean Up", "Mark as read", "Mark as unread", "Download", "Download as ZIP", "Import messages", "Show size" and "Refresh tree"... Thats it... That should be unchecked, obviously, if you don't want to check all your folders for new mail...
