It's in the *very* early stages, but it's slowly progressing. I did take a look at the iPhoto2Gallery plugin and it seemed to me to be overly complicated for what we need. It looks like it was written well before Apple released the iPhoto SDK, so I guess that is to be expected. I'll update the ticket as things progress and eventually will get this into our git repository.
