But is verifying message really such a performance hog? I think it isn't very intuitive if users need to manually verify signed messages, they won't do it anyway. Maybe most messages I don't care if they are genuine, like list traffic. But I want to verify personal messages. Most clients seem to offer the option to verify on demand.
