To the user, the browser appears to be doing nothing, so perhaps clicking on a button again, or again, or again might get a response. An area I observed this within Horde is for users doing searches in Turba that take a long time. A good feature to counteract the extra followup clicks would be to do something similar to the Kronolith pageLoading stuff, except overlay the screen with a Searching pattern.
