However it is my hope that because the code does work you can see the benefit of this patch which does actually work.  



I probably chose the directory instead of file in my CVS client to make the patch, hence the extra file, although the misnaming of the form was inexcusable.  As you can tell it was copied from the existing admin/*.php scripts and I was following the existing model used which output HTML too.  



I take your comment about this to mean that existing scripts need to be converted from outputting html code in the script as well? They should ideally be using Horde_Template?</description>

Yes, and no. There is no reason to use Horde_Template, but all the HTML output, also the existing, should be moved to a template in templates/admin/datatree/.</description>
